HOULTON, Maine &mdash Maine is paying its final respects to a Special Forces soldier from Houlton killed in Afghanistan.
Military Street Baptist Church announced that the funeral for Sgt. 1st Class Aaron Henderson is scheduled for Wednesday inside the gymnasium at Houlton High School.
The Bangor Daily News reports that visiting hours will begin at noon with the funeral scheduled at 2 p.m.
Henderson was wounded by an improvised explosive device Sept. 30 and died last Monday at the hospital at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan.
He served in the 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group out of Fort Campbell, Ky.
Henderson graduated from Hodgdon High School in 1997. He played soccer, basketball and baseball in high school.
