KISSIMMEE, Fla. A 21-year-old soldier who dropped out of college to join the Army out of a sense of patriotic duty was killed in Baghdad when his military vehicle struck an explosive device.
Spc. Jeff LeBrun was assigned to the Armys 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, 10th Mountain Division based at Fort Drum, N.Y.
His father, Joseph LeBrun, 50, said Army representatives told him his son was driving to a hospital Saturday when the explosion occurred.
LeBrun quit his computer studies to join the Army. He wanted to ease the financial strain on his parents, who are Haitian immigrants, friends and family members said. His father, a painter, has a bad back after years of work as a welder, and his mother makes sandwiches at the Orlando Sentinel cafeteria.

Jeff was one of the first guys i met when i was transferred to 2-15 he was also without a doubt the most thoughtful. in garrison he was the one i could count unfortunately being a 13f i was transferred to a infantry unit and lost contact with him i was and still am sorry for the loss he made a difference in the time he was with us and his life has impacted everyone who knew him for the better. i think about you all the time brother rip

Jeff was a great man and a great friend, I miss hime everyday that I live. I loved him as a brother. And to that last mother fucker that said he deserved to die fuck you mother fucker you deserve to die. He fought for his country and for his brothers this man went to heaven with out a doubt in my mind.
