Shawn, we miss hearing your footsteps in your apartment above us. Owen misses his Uncle Shawn. Thank you for the great memories. You lived a tremendous life. The sad part is that it was cut short. It is comforting to know that you are with Lynn. Please give her a hug for us. We love you. Stacey, Ryan and Owen, sister-in-law, brother, nephew

I was just getting to know Shawn at APC, where he and I both worked. I knew that he liked the New York Giants, my favorite team as well as his. A week before the attacks, he told me about a poll on who'd win the season-opening Monday night football game, the Giants or Broncos. Seventy-five percent chose the Broncos. So I looked at Shawn and said, "That means 75-percent of the people will be wrong come Tuesday morning." We shared a laugh and went back to work. That night, the Giants played good football but lost, and I looked forward to talking to Shawn in the morning about the game. That was the night before the attacks, before I even knew he was going to be away on vacation. God, how I wish the Giants won that night.

I did not know Shawn, but he was my relative. I have heard about him through family and what I heard is that he was smart, kind and very well liked. My prayers go out to him and the family, especially during this holiday season. I am so sorry for the loss and for all the losses of these helpless people. May God be with you and guide you to heaven. Teri Nassaney, distant cousin

Shawn always had a smile on his face. He was the go-to guy and always willing to help wherever he could. He is terribly missed. Matt Newman, co-worker and friend

I did not know Shawn well, but I do know that he was loved by many people. When I was at the funeral mass, I never felt so much love. Shawn, you will be missed. Jamie Wilcox, friend of family
