BRYAN, Texas Pfc. David Parkers quick wit and smiling face earned him many friends in Central Texas even though he lived there just two years.
Every time I was with him there was always something to laugh about, said his girlfriend, Amy Bolline. He was such a happy person you couldnt help but be happy right along with him.
Parker, 20, was killed in Iraq on Jan. 21 when a mortar round exploded near him at his compound near Baqubah. He joined the Army in October 2002 and had been assigned to the Fort Hood-based 4th Infantry Divisions 588th Engineer Battalion since February.

Prayers & Condolences For: James David Parker BY Anonymous on Apr 18, 2018
I knew James David Parker as "Dave" when he lived in Solon Ohio. We met when I moved into town from out of state. He and his group of friends were a year or two older than me. Dave was a bright beacon of hope and joy to me. I was an unsure young man in a strange place. Dave introduced me to many people and ensured his friends always saved me a seat in the lunchroom. I have fond memories of him and his friends during that time. I doubt so many people would have been as wonderful toward me without Dave's incredible kindness.
I've never forgotten his kindness. I hope to be able to pay it forward someday.

Memorial Day, May 30, 2011To David, his family and all those unnamed,On this day we honor and remember our fallen and honor and pray for our living that they may be protected in their service. While we may or may not support the policies that lead us into conflicts, it is our solemn duty to support and honor you who answer the call to service of this great nation and its people. We are called to continue to press for this government to give you ITS all. It is further our duty to work for Peace that we my spare others of the loss of their children, fathers and mothers.
Feeling strange to pen this to one I never knew, perhaps it is most fitting to honor all those who remain unnamed to me and to express my gratitude to you and your families for the ultimate sacrifices of this countrys finest Treasure.David, you were born 3 days before my own son, and died on my birthday. You had a whole life ahead of you, yet you laid it down for your beliefs and for all of us. We rest in certainty that you have a place in the Honor Court prepared for you.It is fitting that you be honored this day for you were some mothers son and some fathers friend. I weep for you all, Dear Soldiers and Families. God bless you all.
In Eternal Gratitude,
