David Foulkes, 22, from Oldham, Greater Manchester, died in the Edgware Road explosion after travelling to London to meet a friend.

His parents paid tribute to a "super lad" who had just begun work in the media sales department of the Guardian newspaper.

  My sincere condolences to the family, friends and girlfriend of David who I know is lost without him around. I miss David's phone calls but feel his presence. I know he is still smiling down on us as he always was on earth. I will miss his charm and wit but most of all his cheeky smile. Anyone who ever met David would know that there are not many people that tough you in the world, but when you met David he did exactly that.So sorry that I did not see you before this terrible tragedy you will always be in my heart.

  It is always sad when a young person dies, but it is terrible when that young person's life is stolen from him. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the family of David Foulkes. I am praying for the family and David's eternal soul.

It's been 20 years since your passing... However, I never forgotten the day you told me I am married, I am going to have a baby, and day your son was born... You touched some many lives in different ways in your brief time on this earth in ways others can't imagine... Some people can be given a life time on this earth and accomplish nothing, and there are some people who are given a short time and accomplish so much... You Mr. Flores-Mejia aka Ricky was that person and soldier who accomplish so much in your shoft tme... As I see the days pass by, and the war seems to be a distant memory, your memory is still alive in my life, and still on this and like other days with my grandchildren I sit back like we did many times and listen to those West Coast oldies... "Never Forgotten"
