Ray, you are a true hero! This day is for you and the many others we have lost in the struggle. You made the ultimate sacrifice for not just your family or your friends but for your people! You fought for us and for our Freedom and for that I truly thank you. I have always thought of you like a brother, I still do and always will. I still remember when we were kids without any worries or problems just the good times and the smiles, I miss those days.
Ray you and your family will ALWAYS be in my heart. I still can't believe I lost you man, I know your in a better place but the pain won't go away. From boys to men we grew, I have nothing but respect and honor for you. I cherish the days we had and know that one day we shall meet again.
May our Father take you into his Kingdom and bless you and your family! May you dance across the stars as we mourn you in our hearts. I miss you so much and I love you Ray watch out for your boy!~Eric Jones

Hi Ray,
You know its been a while since we last spoke, but you were always one of those that you couldn't forget. The day befor you I heard you were gone I was looking throgh a few old pictures. I came across one of you. I thought " man, I kinda miss those days". You know at a time like this it's alwys kinda hard to know weather or not you can hear what im saying. I like to believe that you can. Your funeral was Monday. It was beautiful. You would have abslutely love it. The Patrioic Guard Riders were there in honor of you. They lined the street all the way tothe dor of the colleseum, (it had to be there because there were over 1500 people there.) I was amazed. You were loved by so many people. And Brooke, oh Ray, you woul be so proud of her. She' s been holding real strong. Shes being a soldier fo you. She misses you bad though. As do I. I wish there were a time that we were all givin to go back and change things and let every one know eactly how much we really do care about them and tell them how poud of them we are. Well I know you can hear me, so Im going to take this opportunity to tell you that you are wonderful. I want to tell you that I am so proud of you. And also Im glad I had the chance to get to know you, And most of all, THANK YOU FOR BEIN A TRUE AMERICAN HERO. Rest in peace my friend.

Cpl. Ray M. Bevel: I will visit your grave to thank you personally, that is my priority. This is how i first got to learn about you.On the morning of 27 April,07 my family and i drove through your beautiful hometown enroute to Ft Worth, Tx. Seemed like all of your fellow citizens were lined up along 176 with old glory all over. We were the first to be pulled over at the 176/ Midland airport intersection, and soon the police escort was in sight, followed by alot of motorcycles then, sadly, the hearses. Our hearts were torn! All the rest of the weekend we wanted to find out who this hero is. and upon returning to our little town of Alamogordo, NM last night, I started to find out who you are. I pray for your family and friends, be strong, be proud, I need to find out more about you. For now I sincerely Thank You.L. Acosta Jr. retired USAF.

O God, by whose mercy the faithful departed find rest, look kindly on Your departed veteran who gave his life in the service of his country. Grant that through the passion, death, and resurrection of Your Son he may share in the joy of Your heavenly kingdom and rejoice in You with Your saints forever.
