Assigned to the 4th Squadron, 6th U.S. Air Cavalry Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.
Incident: Army Spc. Rickey L. Bell died Aug. 22 in Multaka, Iraq, of injuries suffered when his helicopter crashed. Also killed were Capt. Corry P. Tyler, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Paul J. Flynn, Sgt. Matthew L. Tallman, Capt. Derek A. Dobogai, Staff Sgt. Jason L. Paton, Sgt. Garrett I. McLead, Cpl. Jeremy P. Bouffard, Cpl. Phillip J. Brodnick, Cpl. Joshua S. Harmon, Cpl. Nathan C. Hubbard, Spc. Michael A. Hook, Spc. Jessy G. Pollard and Spc. Tyler R. Seideman.

  you were one of my best friends! Im missing you already so much & the time that wasnt spent since we both graduated from High School, I truly regret so much. I know youre watching over everyone and just grinning because thats what you did best. I love you so much & will see you again someday :)

  Lil Rickey it has been one of my greatest joys to be able call you and your family our best friends.

And watch you grow into a man I could not be prouder of you for the friendship you gave to me and my family along with the dedication to our country you so unselfishly have given. Phil worked for me when he volunteered to deploy to Iraq with the Joint Contracting Command. He was a great officer, a great friend and an incredible husband/father. He was just a couple of days away from returning from his deployment. I received an email from him on 5 April requesting to stay a bit longer so he could finish the job started. I had not yet responded to his email when I was notified by our Commanding Office on Easter morning that Phil had been killed. Miss you Phil!
