BALTIMORE — The Pentagon says a Maryland man was among three soldiers killed in Iraq this week.
Twenty-one-year-old Spc. Micheal B. Matlock Jr. of Glen Burnie died Feb. 20 of injuries sustained Feb. 19 when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device in Baghdad.
Also killed were Sgt. Conrad Alvarez, 22, of Big Spring, Texas, and Cpl. Albert Bitton, 20, of Chicago.
All three were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
