The Dash.~~I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend, he referred to the dates on his tombstone from beginning to end.~~He noted that first came the date of his birth and spoke the following date with tears, but he said, "What mattered most of all was the dash between those years."~~For that dash represents all the time he spent alive on earth, and now only those who loved him know what that little line is worth.~~For it matters not how much we own...the cars...the house...the cash...what matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.~~So think about this long and hard, are there things you'd like to change ? For we never know how much time is left that can still be arranged.~~If we could just slow down enough to consider what is true and real, and always try to understand the way other people feel.~~Be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love people in our lives like we never have loved before.~~If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering this special dash may only last a while.~~So when you eulogy is being read with your lifes actions to be rehashed, would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash.~~Ed Meyer U.S. Navy Vet (Petty Officer 1st class) WWII Veteran, Louisville, Ky.Louisville, Ky.

Some folks say that life is a game. If it is, I am certain of only one thing, at the end, the winner is not the person with the most money, the most "stuff ", the most power.~~The winners are those with the most love. So, if life is a game, the object of the game is to give and receive as much love as possible.~~Jeff was a true winner in life.~~May you rest in peace my friend.

Goodbyes do not come easy. Farewell is hard at best. To part from loved ones breaks the heart and puts us to the test.~~So, long makes it no better, the tears will surely flow. It is so hard to accept that you are gone, that you had to go.~~Why did you have to leave? Everyone of us that loved you protest. As salty tears fill our eyes and pains shoot through our breasts.~~But thoughts of you linger and memories fill our minds of the times together and the pleasures we did find.~~As friends, as comrades, as family, your memory lingers friend. The joys we shared will carry us through until we meet again.
