BUELLTON, Calif. — Cpl. Aaron Allen and his childhood buddies had a special tattoo on their biceps: the Chinese symbol for “warrior.”
And despite his mother’s wishes, Allen, 24, had decided by 16 that he would join the Marines.
“I wanted nothing to do with it. There was no way I could talk him out of it,” Cathy Allen said. “At one point when he was going overseas, I told him I had the right — since he was my only son — to stop this. He begged me not to. He said he had trained for this, he wanted to do it.”

Prayers & Condolences For: Aaron M Allen BY Anonymous on Dec 09, 2008
I had moved to GA in the summer of 2006, and Aaron was stationed there then. Only knowing my aunt and uncle and one other person there...one of my friends had introduced me to him and his friends and their "crew" and they took me right in and made me feel comfortable. He was always kind and funny and would go to the end of the world for anyone. Aaron was like a big brother to a lot of me and my girl friends and his death took us by surprise and our hearts are broken. My prayers are with the family right now at this time of need. RIP Aaron-O you will be missed!

My husband is in the same platoon as your son, and during their work up to this deployment spoke highly of him, he was with him on patrol that day. Your son gave the ultimate sacrifice, he spent his last days doing what he loved to do, lived for, and trained for, as well as making this world a better, safer place. I am so proud of our marines. I only met your son very briefly in passing after their working day and the day they left Camp Horno, but he always seemed very happy, enjoying life. You raised a fine man, I can only imagine your pain, my deepest condolences to you and your family.

Thank you for your service to our country. I thank your family for raising a son so brave and caring that he would lay down his life for our country. I know you are dancing with Jesus today, and one day you will be surrounded by your family again. God is so good, even in times as hard as this we must believe that this is just the start of Aaron's amazing journey. God bless the Allen family! God speed Aaron!
