FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. The military has announced that a Fort Campbell soldier serving in Iraq is dead.
The Defense Department said Monday that 25-year-old Staff Sgt. Jonathan W. Dean of Henagar, Ala., died Dec. 20 of injuries suffered in a non-combat related incident in Tikrit, Iraq.
He was assigned to the 561st Military Police Company, 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, a sprawling Army post on the Kentucky-Tennessee border. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

I never knew Jonathan, his family or anyone he ever knew. I'm from Wichita,KS and I read his story in our local paper. Every time I hear of a fallen soldier it breaks my heart. I am saddened to hear of Jonathan's death and I want to extend my deepest sympathies to his wife, his family, & friends.
