Incident: Marine Lance Cpl. Javier Olvera died Aug. 8 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, while supporting combat operations. Also killed were Lance Cpl. Dennis J. Burrow and Lance Cpl. Patrick W. Schimmel.

  Javier, not a day goes by that your not thought of and missed. By family, friends, and comrades. I hear about you often though i never got the chance to meet you. I've always heard about you and they were always in the you were always spoken of in the highest reguards. Thank you for your service. I know your watching everyone and keeping them smiling. James and Cathy are proof.

I Love you and respect you in more ways then one. Rest In Peace, we'll all see you on the other side.

  wow i hadnt spoken to u since u called on my birthday and all i can remember is u being so nervous and i heard u tell my sisters that u felt like throwing up lol. wen i found out u had passed i was at work and i almost had to be sent home i cried for days but then i remembered how wen i cried u used to beg me not to. i was ur lil sugar plum for two years and those years have passed. i will always love u and always think of u as the man who taught me a few things about life you and i had a wonderful relationship and i know you loved me until the day u passed. i mite haveto add i was really mad at you for passing so suddenly i was so angry i even yelled at GOD for taking you from this world. but i feel better now because i feel you near me and thank you for visiting me i my dreams. i love you and always will.

  We were truly blessed to have known him for a few months before he was deployed to Afghanistan. He always had a smile on his face and so full of energy. HE WILL BE TRULY MISSED. OUR PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

It's been 20 years since your passing... However, I never forgotten the day you told me I am married, I am going to have a baby, and day your son was born... You touched some many lives in different ways in your brief time on this earth in ways others can't imagine... Some people can be given a life time on this earth and accomplish nothing, and there are some people who are given a short time and accomplish so much... You Mr. Flores-Mejia aka Ricky was that person and soldier who accomplish so much in your shoft tme... As I see the days pass by, and the war seems to be a distant memory, your memory is still alive in my life, and still on this and like other days with my grandchildren I sit back like we did many times and listen to those West Coast oldies... "Never Forgotten"

James David Parker

I knew James David Parker as "Dave" when he lived in Solon Ohio. We met when I moved into town from out of state. He and his group of friends were a year or two older than me. Dave was a bright beacon of hope and joy to me. I was an unsure young man in a strange place. Dave introduced me to many people and ensured his friends always saved me a seat in the lunchroom. I have fond memories of him and his friends during that time. I doubt so many people would have been as wonderful toward me without Dave's incredible kindness. I've never forgotten his kindness. I hope to be able to pay it forward someday.
