I am thankful for all of the men and women that sacrificied their lives, including Robert J. Cottle. We prayed for you and your family at Corpus Christi church today in Aliso Viejo, CA to remember you this memorial day weekend. I am blessed to have a husband (LAPD) and big brother (OCSD) that served our country with the USMC, and still protect us when they go to work as police officers each day. America the beautiful! Robert was a unique individual. We entered the marine Corps the same year, 1983. I was out in 4 and he never left. He loved the Corps and it loved him. Although I am going to miss my friend forever, I know he was exactly where he wanted to be - outside the wire, with his boys !! I have never known anyone so dedicated to service and so driven to train. He jumped out of airplanes on his day off. RJ, I'm going to miss you my brother. One thing I know - your pain was only temporary, you pride will be forever - Semper fi and God's speed my friend, Scotty Hugins 'huggy" out
