Dang battle...this is crazy. You were a good man and a great soldier. I remember talking about OCS with you before leaving Basic. I was presented with the opportunity to go through OCS and I am almost done with it now. I see that you went through it and I am sure you excelled. I still remember you lifting Patton up with one arm. The bay went silent when we saw that lol. I am saddened to learn of what happened. It has caused me to be more motivated to apply myself in and during all my future training. I pray God's peace and comfort upon your family. I pray your son grows up to be as great a man as his father was.

I am the woman who gave your wife, friend and baby water at the end of the Memorial Day Service at Washington Crossing (least I could do). I read about Demetrius on the internet and want you to know that his sacrifice is greatly appreciated. I am so sorry for your loss; you are in my thoughts and prayers.
