| Hey V-hav, just letting you know you're not forgotten this Memorial Day.
I am still in just as much shock when I think about this today as when the BN CO told me about it over the phone when he was checking up on me in the hospital. When we were in Tank School, you were the nicest Marine I ever met - too nice for a Marine to be honest. I hope the Corps didn't take that away from you while you were with us.
Semper Fi brother, and hope your family is still doing well.

| I hang your picture above my porch and hope it lasts for a very long time there. I know you had a hand from wherever you are, in Cara's miraculous survival from a gunshot wound to the chest, on the same day of the month, with the identical AK-47, at nearly the same time of the morning. There's no better way to send a sign than that. Guardian soldier! I think of you every day.

My friend, my brother, It's so hard to believe that your are gone it feels like yesterday when I met you signing up for the ROTC. I remember you being so proud, and i knew that the army would be your home. I also met your wife then and we al had good times. I still remember when we went to your house and went rappelling from the bridge. I cant put into words how this feels buddy, But I feel safer now Knowing that heaven"s gates will be guarded by someone like you.It is truly an honor to be able to say that i had the privilege of meeting you, that you had a profound impact in my life, and from one soldier to another all I can say is I'll see you at the change of the guard sir!
