This man from Canada began at 9 on a radio show, and ended here, in the US, as World News Tonight's anchorman. Many say he died too young, and yes, he did, and no he will not be forgotten due to the impact he made EVERYWHERE in the world for 50 years. We will miss him. My condolences to his family, too.

We all have loss a great man of integrity and who is a role model to all and what Amrica is all about. Opportunity for all and he was that example. May God bless each of you and take this time to evaluate our life to make positive changes a realize that life is short no matter how long we live and that we need to live daily as if we are going to meet our creator daily and reach out to another daily to make a positive change and make our Nation Greater than ever.

I also want to thank you for helping me get done smoking cigarettes.
When Peter announced that he had lung cancer, for some reason his news resonated deeper in me than any other celebrity with lung cancer. I respect Peter and was truly moved by his story and confession about relapsing in the aftermath of September 11, 2001.
I smoked my last cigarette on the Friday before Mamorial Day, this year. I have not smoked a single puff since.
The news of Peter's death has, understandably, hit me pretty hard, since I thought of Peter as my inspiration for quitting. I think the best thing I can do now for his memory is to stay smoke free for the rest of my life.
I no longer smoke and I have Peter to at least partially thank. I thought that smart people could avoid lung cancer by being smarter than it, or something. Obviously that is not the case.
Rest in peace, Peter. Bless your soul. Thank you.
