I did not know him, but saw a video of the tribute procession for this fallen hero. My son is a marine with the 2/8 currently the point of the sword in Afghanistan. I feel you pain. as we have lost a few men already. until you hear a name, you don't know who it is and that is an emptiness that cannot be filled. I wanted to take a minute and let you know I am thinking about you. thank you for having this website to allow us to say a few words.Jeff Bein proud father of Marine Sergeant Matthew Bein
The family misses you cousin, everything seems different without you and we are reminded of you constantly. You will never be forgotten. We Love You.-Danny
As a fello Gold Star Parent I was Honored on June 20 at Marseiles, Illinois at the yearly Illinois Freedom Run to read this young mans name along with my Son's, US Army Cpl. Michael Eyre Thompson. Their names were added to the freedom Wall. I also recieved his dogtag they give out with all the names of the fallen soldiers. Our Hero Sons now grace monuments across this great country of ours, and have left us in such a place of Honor. My heart willl remember these fine young men forever....Kory Thompson, Proud Army Dad, Harrah, Oklahoma
May the Grace of God covers every soul that views this site. My daughter is missed truly on this side. We hope you get there. Thank you for remembering her brave actions in Iraq.SincerelyGold Star MotherLavada
Matt,Not a day goes by without me thinking and missing you. You are forever missed and loved. I really miss our talks and your laugh. I know someday we will meet again and I rejoice at that thought. I love you son. Love Dad
I and my fellow worshippers at Victory Baptist Church in Valdosta, Ga, offer our most cincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of SSG John Beale. May GOD bless you and keep you until HE comes again.
David was a very good "Soldier" he loved the Army and his job that he had in the Army. Every "Soldier" goes through hard times, but they all stay ture to the Army. I was with SP/4 David J. Ramsey during the last two weeks of his life and he never said a bad word towards the Army or his job in the Army. To keep this short, David dieded from a broken heart. And all his so called friends that think it was PTSD or any thing else are not his true friend.
Michael was my grandkids' godfather and the best friend of my soldier-son as well. Michael was a hero to so many and did not die in vain. He is and will be in our hearts forever. His courage and passion for his country and fellow man could not be matched. We love Mike very much and he will always be with us. Mission accomplished, good and faithful soldier. Thank you and we love you. You will be missed always.
To all those who knew Ricky, aka "Mojoe", know that there wasn't a bad thing you could say about him. I wish I had the money to have made it down to his funeral to pay him his last respects, although I and everyone else who knew him will love and respect him forever. I pray for his wife Fredda and their Children every time I speak to the Lord. Ricky was hands down, one of the greatest people I have ever met. Honest, caring, loving, respectful, with a touch of southern class. To all those that knew him, knows that he always had kind words coming out of his mouth, ( when we could understand him, with that thick ol' southern drawl). We don't need to pray that Ricky make it to the pearly white gates of heaven, because Ricky was born to walk amongst Angels. We need to thank Ricky for all he has done for his family, country, and this world. Thank you Mojoe, we love you, and will be with you one day, soon.
Marcus F. DeeFellow soldier who joined and served among this great human being/soldier.

Bryan,I can't believe it's been 3 years today. I miss you, but I know you are in a much better place than the rest of us. Everytime I think of you I remember when we used to run around at Doris and Charlie's then we would sit on the swing in the front yard for what seemed to be hours. I love you and will NEVER forget you. Rest in peace my cousin.Love,Margie
My Deepest Condolences go out to the Family of Jeffrey. I had the honor of serving under him and to get to know him on a personal level and know what kind of outstanding individual he was. He is in a better place right now and all honors go out to him and his family in their time of grief. You will be missed Master Chief.AZ1(AW) Ret.
Travis, it has been a year today since youve been gone. I don't spend a single day without thinking of you. I still have the pine cone baseball we made and used for our homerun derbies in Max Gain. Well brother, part of me thinks "well at least he died doing something that he loved and believed in." But the other part just wishes you were here to drink a couple a beers with and shoot the shit.
Reza, it was good knowin ya devil. You were my inspiration in San Diego. it was good to see you one last time in Yuma, Az. You will forever be in my heart. Stay near brother until we all return home from this country. Love ya. Semper Fi
And to the family of Matthew Reza, my God watch over your family and guide you.
Aaron enlisted in the Army, several weeks shy of his 18th birthday. On April 7th, he was shipped off to Iraq with the Washington-based 2nd Infantry Division."He was an infantryman," an Army brigadier general said at the service just before announcing that Gautier had earned the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and a posthumous promotion to corporal for his actions the day he died. "Every time he rolled off a forward operating base, every soldier looked at him with respect. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, and Fort Lewis, Wash. But his true home was in Hampton Roads.Aaron was a beautiful, loving son, and friend to many. He was born on January 17, 1988 at 5:38am on a Sunday morning. "I remember that it was snowing outside." He was such a beautiful baby and grew up to be a handsome young man. He was a little hyper when he was growing up. The Doctors said he had ADHD. He was a handful growing up. But I wouldn’t trade not one moment or memory.
Aaron was killed on Thursday, May 17 in Baghdad of wounds sustained when his mounted patrol came in contact with enemy forces using small-arms fire and an improvised explosive device. He died from his inquiries on the operating table.
CPL Aaron D. Gautier, 19, of Hampton, passed May 17, 2007, paying the ultimate price for freedom in Iraq. A U.S. Army veteran whose proudest accomplishment was graduating infantry school, Aaron enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two little sisters. He attended Bethel High School, where he was a member of the Army JROTC unit. Aaron found enjoyment in the smallest things in life, and was quick to find friendship in everyone he encountered. Aaron is survived by his mother, Tina Houchins, and stepdad, Donald 'Bubba,' of Newport News; father, Daniel Gautier, and wife, Tracy; two sisters, Tricia Gautier and Alexis Houchins of Newport News ;grandparents, Daniel and Teresa Richey of Wilmington, N.C., Brian and Dottie Coleman of Hampton, Ken and Pat Lenorman of Newport News; step-grandmother, Saundra Mayes of Hopewell; great-grandfather, Ray Grieve of Hampton;; Aunt, Val Gautier-Conlon, and Uncle, Jimmy, of Newport News; Aunt, Tracy Boswell of Hopewell; Uncle, Robert C. Stockum of Hampton; and a host of family and friends.
The American flag draping the silver casket sitting at the front of Fort Monroe's Chapel of the Centurian was symbolic of the man Army Cpl. Aaron Gautier had become. He was patriotic, dedicated and loyal. At 19 years old, he had learned what it meant to live honorably and with courage, family and friends said at his funeral Saturday.Published in the Daily Press from 5/23/2007 - 5/26/2007.
"Remembrance, you can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she's gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what she'd want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on. Author Unknown"

To his wife, if you ever see this, he talked about you all the time, he even wanted to get you a cat. I wanted you to know. I was lucky enough to work with SPC Kurth, and lucky is the right word. He was a great guy and a fantastic soldier. We were both cooks, and working with him made my days easier. Never one to stand back and watch other, or to take the easy way out. I am lucky to have known you Kurth.
I had the honor to work with Lt Col Stratton when I was just and E3 and he was an O3 on deployments in support of the Cobra Ball missions. He was always very kind to me and he was someone I looked up to. When I was going up for Senior Airman Below the Zone, he took the the to write a letter of recomendation for me. My husband Michael London was part of the Cobra Ball aircrew as well and is now workng as a contractor at Bagram and that is how I found out about this. I will always remember him and the ultimate sacrifice he made for our country. He is truly a hero that I will never forget. ~ Heather London, Colorado Springs, Colorado
